When National Taipei University of Technology students spelled out the word “Love” in English using lights in their dorms last month, the effort was not to send a romantic message, but to express one student’s love and respect for his father.
Welcome from the President
Founded in 1912, Taipei Tech is one of the oldest universities in Taiwan. It was first established during the Japanese Colonial Period as the Auxiliary Industrial Institute of the Education Affairs Office of the Civil Administration Department. The school was first established with only three departments, (Woodcraft, Metalwork and Electrical Engineering) to supply top industrial education at that time. With the progress of time and technology, Taipei Tech propelled ahead as well. We currently offer 17 undergraduate programs, 26 master programs and 16 Ph.D. programs within 6 colleges.
We are proud to have such a long history in education, and wish to continue to provide top quality education. Our goal is to be an internationally and technologically renowned university. We wish that in the near future Taipei Tech will be a globally visible technological university to the likes of Georgia Institute of Technology in the USA and the Tokyo Institute of Technology in Japan, just to name a few. We are also focusing on training with strong orientation towards industry application, and professional programs by incorporating a well-built series of entrepreneur trainings to continue our mission for Taipei Tech as the incubator of future entrepreneurs. The school will continue to be an exchanging platform for industries, academics, and research; rooting Taipei Tech in Taiwan’s industries and making Taipei Tech an “excellent and most reliable R&D partner of SMEs.”
Talents are by far the most precious asset of a university. A first-class faculty not only contributes to research, teaching, and school services, but also attracts and nurture a new generation of outstanding students and therefore alumni. Taipei Tech has long been credited with providing top-quality teaching. We will work to preserve such excellence with teaching themed alongside the school’s image as the “entrepreneur incubator” and application-oriented research institute. By drawing on the richness of course innovation, our objective is to bring all intellectually outstanding minds together to engage them, inspire them and advance their future careers.
I hope you will visit our beautiful campus in the heart of Taipei city. Enjoy your visit online, and thank you for taking interest in Taipei Tech.
